Partners

Parkwood Leisure collaborates extensively with a network of 42 local authorities, along with key central government bodies and private sector partners. This wide-reaching partnership allows Parkwood to manage and operate a diverse portfolio of leisure facilities spanning the entire UK, from Barry to Bexley, Leeds to Penzance. These facilities encompass a broad spectrum of leisure offerings, including golf courses, theatres, dynamic event venues, and leisure centres of all sizes and types.

Through this extensive experience, Parkwood Leisure has cultivated a deep understanding and expertise in the management of various leisure facilities and health & wellbeing services. The company takes a personalized approach with each local authority partner, working closely to understand their unique needs and specific requirements. This collaborative approach ensures that the services provided are tailored to the community while respecting and promoting the heritage and local character of each individual site.

The London Borough of Bexley Council

Working in partnership with The London Borough of Bexley Council and Lex Leisure CIC, this contract includes three large centres which offer an impressive range of facilities to the local community. Health & wellbeing services form a core part of the service offer, across GP referrals, personal health budget schemes, MSK rehabilitation hubs and outreach activities.

Boston Borough Council

Working in partnership with Boston Borough Council and Creating Active Futures, we manage the Geoff Moulder Leisure Complex and Princess Royal Sports Arena.

Breckland Council

This exciting contract, in partnership with Lex Leisure CIC, includes 4 leisure centres of various sizes. With a main pool, learner pool, 55 station gym, sports hall and group exercise facilities, the local community has access to an impressive range of physical activity opportunities.

Brent Council

1Life work in partnership with Brent Council to manage Willesden Sports Centre – an ideal fitness, leisure and community destination. The centre boasts fantastic facilities including 25m and 12 m swimming pools, 110 station gym, group exercise classes, a 60m indoor track and a 400m outdoor track, a four court sports hall and steam and sauna rooms.

BP Corporates

In partnership with BP, 1Life manages the on-site health & fitness clubs for BP.

BP Pangbourne, BP Canary Wharf, BP Meadhurst

Bristol City Council

Parkwood Leisure work in partnership with Bristol City Council and Lex Leisure CIC at Hengrove Park Leisure Centre. Hengrove Park is home to a 50 metre swimming pool, a 180 station gym, exercise studios, health suite and climbing wall, with a wide scope of community-focused services and wellbeing support.

Bristol – Friends of Jubilee Pool

Friends of Jubilee Pool (Bristol) Ltd is entirely run by volunteers. It was set up in 2021 to lead on the submission of the application for the Community Asset Transfer of Jubilee Pool and Gym. After the successful completion of the transfer of the pool from Bristol City Council to FoJP on October 1st 2023, FoJP has a 35 year fully repairing lease to run the pool. Parkwood Leisure, sub-contracting to Lex Leisure CIC, operate the pool on a day-to-day basis, supporting the local community to remain active.

Broughton Astley Parish Council

Parkwood Leisure works in partnership with Broughton Astley Parish Council and Creating Active Futures to manage the Broughton Astley leisure centre, which opened in 2020. The facility includes a four-court sports hall, floodlit outdoor 3G pitch and a health club with a 65-station gym and two group exercise studios to encourage the local community to stay active. There is also a café and an outdoor play area.

Cardiff City Council

Cardiff International Pool is an impressive family focussed facility with a fun pool, 50 metre competition swimming pool, gym, exercise studio and health suite located on the Cardiff Bay and managed in partnership with Legacy Leisure. The centre is home to many high profile competitions and was the training centre for the Brazilian Olympic Swimming team in the run up to London 2012.

Castle Point Borough Council

Glendale Golf (the golf course management arm of Parkwood Leisure) has operated this popular 18-hole course since 2004, on behalf of Castle Point Borough Council. A blend of links-style and parkland golf makes it a unique choice for golfers of all skill levels. The facility offers a range of services for the local community, including a floodlit driving range and golf academy.

Cherwell District Council

In partnership with Cherwell District Council and Legacy Leisure, the centres deliver a vast range of community focused physical activity opportunities and services, including MSK rehabilitation hubs and GP exercise referral programmes.

Bicester Leisure Centre, Kidlington & Gosford Leisure Centre, Spiceball Leisure Centre

Chorley Council

In partnership with Chorley Council and LEX Leisure we offer a vast range of golfing activities for the local community, including 18-hole golf course, driving range, adventure golf, coaching and outdoor scenic woodland areas. 

Duxbury Park Golf Course

Coventry City Council Education Partnership

Caludon Castle Sports Centre is a dual use site at the heart of the community in Coventry. It is managed in partnership with Lex Leisure CIC.

Cornwall Council

This PFI leisure centre offers a new and fully equipped gym, swimming pool, exercise studio, health suite and courts to help keep the local community active and engaged with exercise.

Crawley Borough Council

In an exciting partnership with Crawley Borough Council, Parkwood Leisure operates The Hawth Theatre and Tilgate Forest Golf Course

Derbyshire Schools Partnership

Chapel Leisure Centre dual use facility is operated in partnership with Lex Leisure CIC on behalf of Chapel Parish Council

Erewash Borough Council

In partnership with Erewash Borough Council and Legacy Leisure, this contract covers three facilities and a range of outreach services to encourage physical activity in the local communities.

West Park Leisure Centre, Victoria Park Leisure Centre, Rutland Park Sports Ground

HASSRA Leeds

The Forum Leisure Centre is situated within an office building, encouraging it’s employees to stay active. The centre offers a swimming pool, gym and fitness classes.

High Peak Borough Council

Parkwood Leisure is working in partnership with High Peak Borough Council to manage Buxton Pavilion Gardens and to provide Professional Services to the Council’s LATC Alliance Leisure Ltd. The support services provided include IT, marketing, finance and HR, enabling the LATC to focus on local activity and operations.

Hillingdon Council

Parkwood Theatres leases the Beck Theatre from Hillingdon Council, safeguarding the future of this well loved community asset. The 600-seat venue sees many exciting shows and local performances.

Lewisham Council

1Life works in partnership with Lewisham Council to manage the Downham Health & Leisure Centre. Along with the leisure centre, the complex also includes health care facilities, youth IT provision, a library and community hall.

Maidstone Borough Council

In 2013, Parkwood Theatres began working with Maidstone Borough Council to operate the exciting local theatre; The Hazlitt. The venue sees many exciting shows and local performances.

Milton Keynes City Council

Parkwood Leisure works in partnership with Legacy Leisure to manage Woughton Leisure Centre and Windmill Hill Golf Centre on behalf of Milton Keynes Council.

North Devon Council

Working with North Devon Council and Lex Leisure, this contract includes Tarka Leisure Centre and the Ilfracombe Swimming Pool, ensuring that local fitness facilities and swimming lessons for children are available to the local community.

Working in partnership with North Northamptonshire Council, Parkwood Leisure operates The Castle Theatre under Parkwood Theatres.

North Somerset Council

This exciting partnership with Legacy Leisure includes three leisure centres and the well known theatre; The Playhouse which has been home to impressive acts such Lee Evans, The Russian Ballet and the Jack and The Beanstalk pantomime featuring George Sampson.

Hutton Moor Leisure Centre, Backwell Leisure Centre, Scotch Horn Leisure Centre

Nottingham County Council

Parkwood Leisure manage a range of attractions, activities and catering options at Rufford Abbey Country Park on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council.

Portsmouth City Council

For nearly two decades, Glendale Golf (the golf course management arm of Parkwood Leisure) has been responsible for the day-to-day running of Portsmouth Golf Course, combining quality golfing with access to incredible hilltop vistas of the Solent. The course is open to everyone and has a strong community of local members.

In partnership with the RFU, Parkwood Leisure manages the health & fitness club at the iconic Allianz Stadium, Twickenham.

Rushcliffe Borough Council

Including five local leisure facilities, Rushcliffe Borough Council work in partnership with Parkwood Leisure and Lex Leisure to offer easily accessible facilities to local people of all ages, abilities and interests.

Sefton Borough Council

Crosby Leisure Centre remains an incredibly popular leisure facility on the outskirts of Sefton. It’s distinctive design, range of facilities and unique cycle hire scheme make it an exciting leisure centre to visit and helps to encourage a range of local residents to get active.

South Holland District Council

South Holland District Council is working in partnership with Parkwood Leisure and Lex Leisure to deliver leisure services in South Holland. The contract includes the management and operation of Castle Sports Complex and Pool and Peele Leisure Centre.

Sports Wales

Working in partnership with Sport Wales and Legacy Leisure, we are honoured to manage the National Outdoor Centre, Plas Menai. This internationally renowned outdoor adventure and training site delivers opportunities across the spectrum, from school children to elite athletes.

Staffordshire Moorlands District Council

Parkwood Leisure is working in partnership with Staffordshire Moorlands District Council to provide Professional Services to the Council’s Local Authority Trading Company (LATC) Alliance Leisure Ltd. The support services provided include IT, marketing, finance and HR, enabling the LATC to focus on local activity and operations.

Stratton St Margaret Parish Council

Parkwood Leisure and Lex Leisure are working in partnership with Stratton St Margaret Parish Council to deliver leisure services at Grange Community & Leisure Centre for the local community.

Swansea Council

Working with Swansea Council to develop the educational impact and tourism potential of Plantasia, an indoor tropical zoo in the City Centre.

The Royal Parks

Richmond Park Golf Course, operated by Glendale Golf since 2007, isn’t just one of Europe’s most-visited golfing destinations. It’s a living, breathing part of London’s iconic Royal Parks. We’re proud to work hand-in-hand with The Royal Parks team, dedicated to the protection and preservation of the rich biodiversity of Richmond Park Golf Course, ensuring it thrives for generations to come.

Torbay Council

Working closely with the Council and Lex Leisure, Torbay Leisure Centre has seen significant refurbishment in recent years, including a whole new gym. The centre is now better equipped than ever to offer a range of physical activity and health & wellbeing opportunities to local communities.

Riviera International Centre is a central part of the tourism offer in Torquay, with performance and exhibition spaces as well as extensive leisure water for family fun.

Working in partnership with the local authority, Parkwood Leisure operates the school gym at Mulberry Sports Centre and makes it available to the public in certain hours.

1Life has worked with Uttlesford DC for a number of years, managing and developing three centres.

Vale of Glamorgan Council

Working with the Council and Legacy Leisure, this contract includes five centres plus extensive outreach and health referral work to support local communities.

West Northamptonshire Council

Working in partnership with West Northamptonshire Council and Legacy Leisure, Parkwood Leisure operates three leisure facilities in Towcester and Brackley.
