Wednesday 25th August 2021 – Parkwood Leisure remains one of the UK’s only leisure facilities operators to achieve ISO45001 – the international ISO standard for Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems – following a recent reassessment. 

The certification is the world’s first international standard for occupational health and safety, and aims to help businesses provide a safe working environment for employees and workplace visitors.

Since first achieving the standard in 2019, Parkwood Leisure has had annual monitoring visits held over five-day periods, culminating in a reassessment audit over July and August 2021. 

The assessment process, which was conducted by awarding body NQA Ltd, was held over eight days, and involved examining documentation and records, and interviews with staff at all levels of the organisation to determine their understanding and implementation of Parkwood’s health and safety policies. 

An audit was also carried out at eight sites to establish procedure compliance; no major non-conformances were found and only three minor non-conformances were recorded.
