PARKWOOD LEISURE AND LEX LEISURE INSTRUCTORS ACHIEVE QUALIFICATIONS WITH STUDY ACTIVE

A group of exercise instructors from Parkwood Leisure and Lex Leisure recently successfully completed a range of professional development qualifications with nationally renowned fitness education course provider Study Active.

This project, supported and funded by Lex Leisure as part of its Community Interest Programme, was based on the need for staff to extend their skill set and obtain the qualifications to enhance their knowledge to support the physical and mental health of priority community groups.

The qualifications studied were the Level 2 Award in Leading Physical Activity for Adolescents and the Level 2 Award in Supporting Pre and Postnatal Clients with Exercise and Nutrition.

Both qualifications will enable the instructors to programme and instruct safe and effective exercise for the specialist population group that they have studied.

The delegates were supported by a range of resources including e-learning, e-manuals and a team of tutors who assisted them throughout their learning journey to ensure success.

The team who signed up and successfully passed the qualifications can now go on to work with adolescents and pre and postnatal clients as part of an evolving healthy communities programme across the group.

Study Active Managing Director, James Luscombe, was full of compliments for the team “Study Active were delighted to have the team from Parkwood study their qualifications with us. Our team was impressed from the start with the professionalism, determination and skill that was displayed throughout.”
