PARKWOOD LEISURE PROVIDES FREE ACCESS TO BODY COMPOSITION ANALYSIS TO SUPPORT USERS IN ACHIEVING THEIR HEALTH & FITNESS GOALS
Parkwood Leisure, one of the UK’s leading leisure operators, has installed new boditrax body composition technology into 21 leisure centres across England and Wales.
The platform provides a comprehensive full body scan, helping users learn more about their bodies and track composition changes over time, receiving data on body weight, BMI, body fat percentage and muscle mass.
The technology is free to use for anybody, enabling members and non-members alike to use the devices to not just set goals, but to accurately monitor and track their progress.
Since installing boditrax, there have been over 38,000 users at Parkwood’s leisure facilities and over 16,000 scans across 21 sites. While the majority of scans were completed by users aged 25-44, the technology has been used across all age groups, from under-18s to users aged 75 and older.
Parkwood has experienced overwhelmingly positive feedback from their members with the introduction of boditrax. James, a member at Hutton Moor Leisure Centre, said:
“I’ve spent years training, never really achieving my goals. The boditrax machine really helps to keep me on track, letting me see how my body responds to different factors like adjusting my calorie intake and cardio.”
“Before using boditrax I was relying on a set of scales at home that don’t give me the in-depth scans that boditrax provides. I really believe it’s helped me progress to where I am today.”
Alice, a member at Tarka Leisure Centre, has also found success using boditrax to help achieve her health and fitness goals:
“Boditrax has helped me on my fitness journey, as it allows me to not just focus on weight and BMI alone, but to break it down into fat and muscle. It’s also allowed me to calculate how many calories I should be consuming by providing me with my BMR.”
“Knowing my overall consumption has helped me to set specific goals and work towards them in and out of the gym. Off the back of the results, I’ve been able to adjust my workout programmes with the gym team to help achieve my goals.”
Commenting on the roll-out of boditrax, Alex Godfrey, Operations Director at Parkwood Leisure, said:
“The introduction of boditrax and expansion across 21 of our leisure centres has provided a fantastic service to users, enabling us to engage more with new and existing customers to really personalise and enhance our members’ experiences. The platform can also be used by non-members, improving access to the communities we serve while supporting the member induction process.
“The roll-out of boditrax has been a huge success, as we’ve seen thousands of users engage with the platform to track their progress and make positive changes to their routines. Following the success of our initial roll-out, we look forward to installing boditrax devices at more sites as we continue to engage in the health and wellbeing of our customers.”
