Parkwood celebrates success with annual Managers’ Conference & Awards

Building on the successes of the past 12 months and with a chance to share the vision for the future of the business, Parkwood Leisure welcomed staff from across the organisation to its annual Manager’s Conference and Awards at the Pavilion Gardens, Buxton, earlier this month.

The theme of this year’s conference, ‘Parkwood’s DNA’, provided the perfect opportunity to reflect on the core values of Parkwood and a chance for the senior team to share new innovations, ways of working and future plans for the business as part of its strategy for continued growth over the next three to five years.

With over £20 million of new contracts added into the business in the last 12 months, Parkwood has also welcomed a new Managing Director and new board appointments in marketing and business development, whilst embarking upon a number of new digital innovation projects. The evening’s Awards Ceremony recognised achievements from across the business, from commercial and innovation to people and client partnerships, as well as Regional Manager awards for the South East, South West and Wales, and the North and Midlands.

The top accolade of the night, the Andrew Holt Manager of the Year Award, went to Lee Carnwell, who also received the Quality Manager of the Year Award. Carnwell, who is General Manager at the Crosby Leisure Centre in Liverpool, has worked in the leisure industry for 22 years since starting out as a lifeguard at Biddulph Leisure Centre; he was also named Regional Manager of the Year in 2018.
