Parkwood Leisure Turns 20!

The past twenty years have seen the company experience fantastic growth. Since winning their first contract in 1995, operating in partnership with South Bucks District Council, Parkwood Leisure has increased its portfolio to over 80 facilities, working with 26 clients across England and Wales.

To celebrate turning twenty, the annual managers’ conference took place at Parkwood Leisure’s head office in Worcester. The conference was a fantastic affair for all involved and featured guest speakers: Steve Ward, executive director of UK Active, Mark Hammersley, CEO of Zoggs, and Adam Walker, the inspirational open water swimmer.

Andrew Holt Presents Manager AwardThe manager of the year award was presented by chief executive, Andrew Holt, to Patrick Lawton, general manager for the Bristol contract. Patrick joined the company in February 2012 and has been part of the team at Hengrove Park Leisure Centre since its opening. Earlier this year, he was elated after being promoted to the position of general manager. His performance since taking on the  role has been exceptional, making him a worthy winner.

Once the conference had finished, staff from across the company, partners and suppliers were invited to attend a birthday party to remember. With prizes to be won and live music from up and coming band, Emerald Hill, as well as the established group, The Chip Shop Boys, the anniversary celebrations were a fantastic success.
